Why attend an online workshop?

An online workshop is a collaborative and interactive platform for discussion, training and study, where the facilitator and participants look deeply into a particular topic or issue. Online workshops are conducted as live sessions to provide a detailed understanding of a subject and decide upon next steps or a way forward. Online workshops are far more interactive than conventional online meetings: participants can join, interact, learn through discussion and carry out activities to assimulate information and knowledge, and put their thoughts in order.

By attending an online workshop, participants can build new relationships, network, and establish connections with people with similar interests or career backgrounds. Topic knowledge is built through discussions and case studies, through visual and graphic presentations. And because of its online format, an online workshop may reach a bigger audience without the space, time constraints, cost or carbon footprint of a face-to-face event.

How might this look in practice?

You are a business leader or HR manager who understands that sustainability is important for your business, your workforce, people in general, and the planet. You have some knowledge of the causes and effects of climate change and you know that your business has a responsibility to reduce its carbon footprint. You want to embed sustainability in your future plans: this means getting your employees on board, and also perhaps influencing both your supply chain and customers.

The online workshop should be evidence-based, informative and interactive, with opportunities to share thoughts, ideas and experiences. Participants need to review the data behind climate change, the causes and effects of climate change, and consider and share case studies and personal experiences. The online workshop ought to support the needs of the participants. Participants should leave the online workshop with an understanding of how to take things forward, taking into account the needs and limitations of their organsiation, and regional, national and international laws and policies. Then there has to be the opportunity to make a difference...to pledge ways to reduce the organsiation's carbon footprint.

You need to find an online workshop provider who can work with you pre-and post-workshop to support you in your sustainability goals.
