'Los miradores' are fifteen viewpoints on the beautiful coastline of Xàbia. Xàbia (Valencian: [ˈʃaβia]) or Jávea (Spanish: [ˈxaβea]) is a coastal town in the comarca of Marina Alta, in the province of Alicante, Valencia, Spain, by the Mediterranean Sea. Along this coast there are fabulous beaches such as Granadella or Portitxol (see photo below), two of the most famous and beautiful on the Costa Blanca.
If you visit one of the three tourist information offices in Xàbia, you can pick up a leaflet called 'XÀBIA EN BICI' which gives details of cycle routes in the area, including one called 'Los miradores route'. This cycle route visits thirteen of fifteen miradores, strategic scenic viewpoints from which you can admire the beauty of the Xàbia landscape, surrounded by abundant native flora. This cycle route starts from Playa del Arenal and continues along the Cala Blanca towards Portitxol until La Guardia. This route is well-sheltered by pine trees which makes it ideal for hot days.
We visited Xàbia for three weeks in October. As well as taking strolls along the Arenal (the beach in Xàbia) stopping off for a glass of wine or a coffee, sunrise yoga, eating in the many restaurants, taking the odd dip in the pool at the apartment complex, we spent a lot of time walking and cycling. During the middle week, we hired bikes from Xàbia's bikes.
We picked up the 'XÀBIA EN BICI' leaflet and used it to plan our own cycling and walking routes. So instead of cycling the 27km route from Playa del Arenal to La Guardia all in one day, we visited all the 'miradores' on different occasions, most by bike but one, Cap de Sant Antoni, on foot. This enabled us to not only enjoy the views from each of the fifteen viewpoints, but we were able to visit some beautiful beaches, restaurants (as below) and woodland too.
